Reflections on Romans 14:7-9 (Wed)

Today’s passage:

14:7 For none of us lives for himself and none dies for himself. 14:8 If we live, we live for the Lord; if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. 14:9 For this reason Christ died and returned to life, so that he may be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

Just like our individual “gray area” values are to be determined by the Lord, so our life and death happen “for Him.” We are the Lord’s. Christ has conquered both realms, so we can be confident that He is Lord over them both. This should keep us from anxiety over what the future holds!

It is nice to not have to be anxious about the future!
